Rancho de La Luna Studio was founded by Fred Drake and David Catching in 1993 in Joshua Tree, California
In 2004, 2 years after Drake’s untimely passing, David Catching took up residency and has served as host, chef, bartender, producer, musician, housekeeper and party coordinator.
The surrounding desert views, funky gear , singular vibe, and Rancho hospitality have inspired the likes of : Arctic Monkeys, Anthony Bourdain, Kyuss, Earth, Queens Of The Stone Age, Autolux, The Desert Sessions, Fu Manchu, CKY, earthlings?, Masters Of Reality, Warpaint, Chris Goss, Joe Walsh, Gutter Twins, Earthless, Afghan Whigs, John Garcia, Snow Patrol, Barrett Martin, Motorpsycho, Sugarfoot, Dot.Hacker, The Mutants, Victoria Williams, Boots, Smith and Pyle, Fatso Jetson, Mojave Lords, Foo Fighters, Eagles Of Death Metal, Iggy Pop, Mark Lanegan, Daniel Lanois, Pins, Tinariwen, Kurt Vile, The Duke Spirit, Wires on Fire, Shy Party, Nebula, Twilight Singers, Unida, Sparta, Barb Wire Dolls, The Giraffes, Midget Handjob and many, many more incredibly talented bands, musicians, artists, photographers, film, and friends.
